I’ve uploaded the photos from Leo’s birthday party and shared them with the guests we have email addresses for. You can click on the Flickr photos to view them. If you’d like to copy them or order a copy you’ll have to go to Kodak Gallery and sign in. Here’s the link: Leo’s 70th Birthday Party - Photos

I have a few from Jared & Jackson’s birthday party. Unfortunately, I went back to being a photography slacker on Sunday. If you’d like the link let me know & I’ll send it to you.

Jessica, Leo, Jackson & Jared @ Leo’s 70th Birthday Party

It was a busy birthday party weekend for us. We celebrated Leo’s 70th birthday on Saturday. A big THANK YOU all who attended. Holiday weekends can be a tricky time to have a party. We hope you had a good time and enjoyed the food!

Today it was time for Jared’s 8th and Jackson’s 5th birthday party. ”Happy Birthday” was sung four times, one for each birthday boy. The birthday boys were Jared, Jackson, Jeff & Leo. Thanks to Jeff, Renee & Renee’s Mom & Dad for having us over. We had a nice time.

We just found out that Brian’s Aunt Lottie has cracked her hip and is in the hospital. I’m not sure of the details. Please send feel better wishes & hopes for a speedy recovery her way. She’ll celebrate her 90th birthday in a week or so.

Jessica got her German class project back today. She received 52 points out of 58. The project was ‘Familien Projekt’. She had to choose eight family members including herself. The project was supposed to resemble a book. The class had to describe each family member they chose and include a picture of them. Jessica’s family choices were: Jared, Jackson, Papa, Grandpa Mark, Uncle Dave, Aunt Michelle W. and Aunt Michelle M.

We went to Michaels so she could figure out what she wanted her book to look like. She chose black and white. We glued black & white polka dot scrapbook paper to black cardstock for the front and back covers. The photos and descriptions were glued to white cardstock for the book’s pages. We traced a picture frame on some black cardstock. The tracings were cut and glued over the photos to look like frames. The names of each person in the photos were written with a silver Sharpie. We punched five holes on the left side of each paper and attached everything with some brads. We rotated black and white colored brads. Finally, we glued the title and Jessica’s name on the cover of the “book”.

Here’s how it looked. The descriptions have been blurred out.

Grading Rubric:

Cover (5 pts) = 5
8 People Discussed (8 pts) = 8
Neatness (5 pts) = 5
Creativity (5 pts) = 5
Legible (5 pts) = 5
Capitalization (10) = 8
Spelling (10) = 9
Grammar (10) = 7

Grade: 52/58

Comments: Very beautiful work but mistakes are there.

Brian was talking about some movie he saw a bunch of times in elementary school. He said all he could remember was that there was a boy and a witch that made psychedelic pancakes. I thought he was kidding. I finally found out what it was. The movie is based on a book and it’s called ‘Winter of the Witch’. The pancakes are innocent, they just make everyone who eats them “happy”.

Here it is:
